『シンプル・サイモン Simple Simon』は、18世紀頃から伝わるイギリスのマザーグース・ナーサリーライム。

「シンプル Simple」とは、ここでは「お人よしの、だまされやすい、無知な、愚かな、まぬけな」といった意味合いで、「サイモン Simon」は人名。全体で「まぬけなサイモン」「愚かなサイモン」などの意味になる。
