ハラハラと舞い落ちる木の葉の優しいささやき
イギリスのウェールズ民謡「とねりこの木立/The Ash Grove」で歌われているセイヨウトネリコは、薬用ハーブとして腎臓や膀胱の疾患、リューマチに効果があるといわれている。
大きいものになると高さ30m以上にもなるようで、建築材、家具材としても利用されている（写真：セイヨウトネリコ／by Eva Wallander）。
