『あの子が山にやってくる』はアメリカのフォークソングで、子供の歌やスカウト活動（ボーイスカウト／ガールスカウト）としても親しまれています。
最初に出版されたのは20世紀に入ってからのようですが、歌自体は19世紀から存在した古いもので、元々はスピリチュアル『When the Chariot Comes』にルーツがあるといわれています。鉄道建設の工夫達が労働歌（ワークソング）として歌っていたようです。
