　アメリカの男性6人組グループ「ヴィレッジ・ピープル(Village People)」による1979年のヒットソング。1978年の「Y.M.C.A.」は同グループ最大のヒット曲となった。アメリカ海軍は当初新兵募集（リクルート）活動に彼らのミュージックビデオの使用を検討していたが、当初はゲイ・マーケットをターゲットとしていた音楽グループに税金を投入することへの批判が高まり、結局取り止めとなった（写真：ニミッツ級航空母艦エイブラハム・リンカーン／出典：Wikipedia）。
